About Us
Dr Bernard Murphy opened Fingerpost Dental in 2014 and in that time, we have built up a loyal following of patients who return regularly for their dental treatments and dental hygiene. At the moment, we have two dentists and four dental hygienists along with nursing and reception staff. Dr Meabh Long, Dental Surgeon, joined us and in 2022 and we are delighted to have her on the team. We offer full time dental hygiene at the practice with our dental hygienists, Michelle Lyne, Aoife Walsh and Linda Casey and Gemma Sexton. In June 2023, Dental Care Ireland took over Fingerpost Dental so we are now Dental Care Ireland (Fingerpost Dental). We are happy to say that no changes have been made to our dental team so patients won’t see any changes. We are always delighted to welcome new patients and are happy to accommodate new and returning patients as quickly and efficiently as possible. Fingerpost Dental is a state-of-the-art dental practice located in the heart of Douglas Village, Cork, situated overlooking the Fingerpost roundabout; between the Doctor’s Surgery and the Veterinary Clinic. We have some car parking outside the surgery and there is usually lots of parking nearby.
- We understand that it is not always possible for our patients to take time off work or school for appointments so we try to accommodate our patients with our long opening hours. We open at 9am every day (and some Saturdays) and we offer late evening appointments on Tuesdays and Thursdays up to 8pm.
- We have some private parking outside the surgery, however if you cannot park in our car park, there is plenty of parking in the general area free of charge for the first 30 mins, but if you think you will run over, a member of our staff will be happy to give you some change for the parking machine while you are with us. Please note that Cork City Council allow a free 30 minute parking in the area.
- We understand for some people coming to the dentist may make you feel anxious or nervous. Our aim is to not only provide the very best dental care, but to ensure you are comfortable, confident and relaxed from the very beginning. We specialize in “pain-free” dentistry and we are here to help!
- GDPR We take GDPR regulations very seriously. We ask all our patients to consent to use their personal data for the ordinary purposes of the day to day running of the dental practice. Our Data Protection Officer is Una Murphy.
